About Me

Hi and thank you for taking the time to look over the site. I am a local NH artist using recycled tree bark to make one of a kind art pieces. I make sure to use bark off of dead trees and find a lot of the materials on walks with the dog. From there I take time to thin it out and cut it into form. Glue it to paper and let it dry.

The first piece was a Mothers Day gift and was looking for something I could make vs buy. The original plan was to wood-burn a deer onto some white birch bark. After looking at the colors you could get out of the bark I figured I could do more with it than just wood burning. It kind of took off from there, mainly making some pieces for myself at the start. I jump between art focused on Nature, mainly our local NH animals, and other art on the movies, anime, pop-culture I like.

I try and make a few multiples of some pieces, but each will still be unique where the bark used will never be exactly the same. I don’t want to make the same pieces over and over, so tend to stick to around 5 at max now.

It takes a lot of time to make a piece and I am terrible at keeping track. I do this because I like making art, so haven’t really thought of it as a job and kept a good track of time. I would say a rough average of 15 hours per piece or more. I cut most everything by hand. I am working on getting some paper pattern punches to make things a little easier, but generally its all hand cut and that take a lot of time.

I have do still work a full time job and currently making art is a hobby. The Dream is to one day do art as the full time job. That being said, please be patient with me lol, it takes a lot of time to find the bark and go through making a piece.
